Master drag-and-drop Kanban boards, customize columns, set WIP limits, and manage workflow.

Switching to Kanban view

In any list, click the view switcher in the top-right corner and select Kanban. The list instantly reorganizes into columns based on task status. You can set Kanban as the default view for a list in the list's settings — so it always opens in Kanban mode.

Understanding columns

Kanban columns map to task status values:
  • Backlog — tasks not yet started (status: todo)
  • In Progress — tasks being worked on (status: in_progress)
  • Review — tasks awaiting review (status: review)
  • Done — completed tasks (status: done)
You can rename columns and reorder them in the list settings.

Dragging cards between columns

Drag any task card to a different column — its status updates automatically and syncs to all other views. Changes are instant and work offline too. You can also right-click a card and choose Move to → [column] for keyboard-friendly workflow.

Adding subtasks to cards

Click a card to open the task detail panel. Add subtasks in the Subtasks section. Subtasks appear as a progress bar on the card face — e.g., "3/5 done." Subtasks don't appear as separate cards in Kanban view; they're always nested inside their parent task.

Filtering and searching

Use the filter bar above the board to narrow cards by:
  • Assignee — see only your tasks or a specific person's
  • Priority — focus on Urgent or High items
  • Tag — filter by label
  • Due date — overdue, today, this week
Press / to search by task title across the entire board.
